Free In-Home Services

Request free in-home services. The Lead Health Intervention Program provides:

  • Consultations (by phone or in-home visits) to identify lead sources in your home.
  • Dust testing in your home for lead contamination.
  • Vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters available for loan.

Request a free in-home consultation. The Lead Health Intervention Program provides free, private consultations on ways to reduce your exposure to contaminants, including lead and other metals. This may involve sampling dust in your home and other items. During the visit, we can check your home and yard for any possible sources of exposure and give advice on ways to safely complete home renovations.

Request sampling for lead at your home. Lead paint, dirty work clothing, pets that play outside, and recreating in contaminated areas can all be sources of lead dust in your home or yard. If you have concerns about lead in your home or yard soil, there are free services available to test dust, soil, and other potential sources of lead. See additional resources below.

How do you keep a lead-free home? Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum! It is also recommended to wet mop and damp dust weekly. Be sure to clean mops and rags after each use. Check out a vacuum with HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filters for household cleaning. For questions, contact Panhandle Health District’s Kellogg Office at (208) 783-0707.
